My mother pass away when my twin sister and I were only twelve. My father hired maid to cook for us, but he loved cooking for us too. I remember he would make some special dish for us on Saturday or Sunday. My sister and I loved to watch how he preparing the food. Pretty soon we picked up the skill only because Chinese food fascinated us from start to finish. We always had good time to enjoy the delicious food we had cooked ourselves.
After collage and married, I came to U.S.A. I cooked not only for my small family of five, also my in-laws including my husband’s parents and two brothers both came to study and lived with us before getting their master degree. Then, they married and moved out to have their own family. We had every holiday in our home. I had done a lot of cooking for the growing big family and loved it.
I came to live in San Antonio, Texas twenty years ago and started to hold a full time job as material planner for an aircraft company that was building a six passengers business jet. My three children left home one by one, my passion of cooking has never stopped. I held a lot of luncheon for my colleague for special occasions during the twenty working years. I treasured a lot of pictures when I retired last year.
Both of my twin sister and older brother’s families live in S. A. and we always had holiday party in my brother’s house. He is a very good cook too. His only son’s family live in Austin and all his in-laws love to come to our party every year.
I went to visit my younger son’s family in L.A. on 2/7 this year. They both work. I picked up the cooking and carrying of their 5 months old baby girl for two and half months. My son who always loves my cooking suggested to create tkcooking at Instagram. He taught me to post my first dish on 3/18/2016. After posting 2 to 4 dishes per day, it came up total 63 dishes on 4/29/2016, he created tkcooking website for me on that day.
As today on 7/7/2016, I have posted 221 dishes at Instagram. I will try to post some of the dishes with cooking background on my website too.
Thank you for visiting, and I look forward to sharing my food and thought with you!
