8/22/2017: Stuffed vegetable dishes are always welcomed by my family. Here is a simple and delicious dish for you to try.
Ingredients: squash, ground pork, scallions, garlic power, sesame oil, chicken, celery.
Instructions:
- Peel and cut squash half. Cut the end to make sure both could stand by itself.
- Clean up the seeds inside. Put some salt outside of squash.
- Mix ground pork with chopped scallions, garlic power, sesame oil, salt, pepper and a table spoon water, then stuffed inside the squash.
- Steamed the squash until it’s soft outside and meat is cooked inside.
- Stir-fried sliced chicken that had marinated with salt and pepper (or soy sauce). Added chopped celery. Added water mixed with cornstarch to thick the sauce.
- After getting the chicken and celery sauce to the plate, add both squashes standing to the center. Garnished with chopped scallions.
- I put some vegetarian mushroom oyster sauce on top of the filling of squash to make it more colorful and tasty.
p.s. As you might know, there are many vegetables could be stuffed, such as green, red peppers or cucumber. You also could use soy sauce in lieu of salt and pepper.
Below is the picture of how I served the squash.
