How to Make Wonton Soup

07/23/2018: Wonton is easiest to make among all the Chinese food that are made from flour. We usually buy three packages of medium (thickness) wonton wraps. The thin wraps are easy to break during cooking in boiling water. Wonton soup is a simple and delicious meal or snack whenever you want.

Ingredients:

(3) packages of medium wonton wraps, (2) lbs. ground pork (or beef or turkey meat),    (1) pkg. (12 oz.) small size cooked shrimps, (1/4) cup of cooking wine, (2) eggs, (1/2) Tsp. corn starch, (1) pkg. of scallions, salt and pepper. (1) small dish of water.

Instructions:

  1. Clean and chopped all the scallions (or as much as you desire).
  2. Mixed ground meat, cooked shrimps, cooking wine, egg, corn starch and scallions.
  3. add salt and pepper as you desire, mix all of them well as filling..
  4. Take wraps out of the package. Put 2/3 inside plastic bag and seal it, so the wraps won’t get dry so fast.
  5. Take one wrap sheet on your left hand, put the filling in the center of the wrap sheet. Make sure to have one whole shrimp in each wrap until you run out of it.
  6. Wet the two edges of the wrap sheet, put corner to corner together and seal it as triangle.
  7. Wet one corner, then put it together with the corner at other end. Put it in the tray.
  8. After each tray is full, put them in the freezer over night. Pour all of the freeze one in plastic bag and saved.
  9. Boil water, add as many as you would like to cook into the water. Stir the pot and make sure none of them stick to the bottom of the pot.
  10. Add cold water once or twice when the water is boiling, the wonton are ready to take out when they are floating on the surface of the water.
  11. Use salt, pepper and light soy sauce and hot water to make soup for the wonton.
  12. Add any vegetable you like (such as lettuce) to the soup and served. Enjoy it!
